Kids
Children's vision care is essential to every child's development.
Over 80 percent of what a child learns in school is presented visually, so making sure every child has good vision can make a big difference in their academic performance.Early identification of a child's vision problem can be crucial because children often are more responsive to treatment when they are diagnosed early. Because of this, eye tests are free for any child under 16.
We have a wide range of stylish children’s frames in stock to choose from. Many of these are available free with an NHS voucher. We believe it is important to involve the child in the selection process. If they choose the the frame then it is more likely that they will want to wear them.
Our staff are fully trained to ensure that the chosen glasses will also fit correctly and to advise on preferable frames to suit each prescription.

Daily disposable lenses are very popular for those who have a busy lifestyle, for occasional wear or those who want to wear full time without the hassle of cleaning. Just simply throw them away at the end of each day. Dailies will be recommended if you suffer from allergies or work in a dusty environment. The new 1-Day Acuvue TruEye offers high oxygen delivery (almost 100%) and UV protection for those who want the best from their lenses and keep their eyes white and healthy.
Extended wear are the most flexible lens. Due to their very high oxygen transmissibility they can be worn as monthly disposable, removing each night or can be slept in for 30 days continuous for those who want to wake with clear vision.
These lenses are replaced every 2 weeks with removal at the end of each day. They are ideal for patients who are prone to the build-up of proteins on their lenses or experience discomfort nearing the end of 30 day wear. Due to their material and surface treatment, these lenses are ultra-smooth and wettable therefore providing relief for tired and dry eyes caused by certain working environments.
A majority of the population have a degree of astigmatism. This is caused by the irregular shape of the front of the eye. With innovative technology these lenses can now provide excellent vision and comfort for a range of spectacle corrections. They are available as daily disposable or monthly disposables.
Ideal for those who are finding small print difficult with their current lenses or would like a change from wearing varifocals. Multifocal contact lenses gives clear vision in the distance and for reading for those presbyopic patients by providing variable powers throughout the contact lens. Another technique to correct early presbyopia is Monovision. This involves prescribing one lens for distance and another for reading. The brain interprets the clearest picture.
For those who want to change or enhance the colour of their eyes even if their eyesight is perfect. They are suitable for dark and light eyes with many colours available to suit your every mood. Available as monthly or daily disposable.

High index (thinner) materials can reduce the thickness and weight of lenses by over 50%.
Lenses treated with these coating have a much harder surface that is more resistant to scratches.
These coatings virtually eliminate distracting reflections off the lens surfaces. Reducing reflected light is particularly helpful Reducing reflected light is particularly helpful for computer users and for night driving. Anti-reflection coatings also improve the cosmetic appearance of your glasses and can make thick lenses look thinner. Some AR coatings are better than others. The latest and best coatings are Multi-Layered incorporating a combination of treatments such as Anti-smudge, hydrophobic(water repellent),UV Protection and Anti-scratch treatments. Many of these come with a 2 year warrantee.
Varifocal lenses, also known as progressive lenses, are used for correcting *presbyopia but unlike bifocal lenses have no visible dividing lines between the different corrections. Instead they have a graduated section in which the power of the lens progresses smoothly from one prescription to the other, allowing the wearer to see clearly at all distances. These lenses also have the benefit of looking better - they don't draw attention to the ageing process.
*Presbyopia is the loss of focusing ability that occurs naturally with age. In younger people, the lens is very flexible and the eye has a wide range of focus from far distance to close up. As you get older, the lens slowly loses its flexibility leading to a gradual decline in ability to focus on near objects.
